Photodynamic Therapy
Treatment Description
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a procedure that uses a photosensitizer in combination with light source technologies to treat common skin conditions.
This type of treatment is used on the face, scalp, ears, chest, arms, and legs.
The treatment is particularly useful in the presence of multiple actinic keratoses (AKs) on a large surface. It allows the treatment of visible and developing AKs that are still difficult to identify clinically.
It is ideal for those whose skin has been damaged by excessive sun exposure, such as golfers, boaters, outdoor enthusiasts, and people who work outdoors.
