Red Spots
Condition Description
There are different dermatological problems that fall under the common name of "red spot". Some are acquired throughout life while others are present at birth.
Telangiectasias - dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin - these “wine stains” are reddish or purplish lines or spots. They appear more often on the face and/or extremities. Over time, the color may become darker and the texture thicker. Wine stains are often stubborn unless treated.
Ruby angiomas and stellate angiomas are small reddish/purple spots on the skin that appear most often on the torso, but also on the face and extremities. They may be flat or raised.
How to Treat
It is possible to reduce and often remove these red or erythematous spots, as they are medically called.
The type of condition as well as the location and general condition of the skin are among the factors that will be evaluated by one of our professionals to propose a solution tailored to each patient.
Laser treatments are often preferred as they penetrate below the surface of the skin to specifically target the vessels, without being invasive.
