Sclerotherapy
Treatment Description
Sclerotherapy consists of injecting a sugar or salt solution into visible veins, commonly called varicose veins or spider veins.
The injected product causes the walls of the visible blood vessels to collapse, transforming them into scar tissue that is then absorbed by the body. They eventually become almost invisible.
After the treatment, it is important to wear compression stockings in order to maintain the effect of the procedure and to reduce the risk of new varicose veins appearing.
Laser treatment may also be recommended to remove small superficial veins.
