Neck and Neckline
Condition Description
The neck and neckline are the parts of the body most exposed to the sun, after the face. They are therefore subject to premature aging.
This aging is manifested by a loss of tone and thinning of the skin. The neck develops horizontal lines, often called "necklace lines". Vertical wrinkles appear in the neckline and a change in skin pigmentation.
Redness appears and the skin shows small blood vessels. The combination of these rednesses, vessels and pigmentary spots is called "civate poikiloderma".
