Bumps and Lesions on the Face
Condition Description
Acrochordons (skin tags) and Milias are common but unpleasant-looking lesions.
Acrochordons are small excrescences of flesh that appear especially on the neck, eyelids, under the breasts, armpits, groin, or inner thighs.
Heredity, obesity, and friction can contribute to them. They are unsightly and unpleasant to the touch. Usually painless, they can become inflamed following friction or irritation.
Milias are actually microcysts. They look like small white or yellowish grains.
In adults, milias are sometimes caused by the obstruction of the hair follicles. They can persist and require treatment to get rid of them.
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a lesion caused by the enlargement of one or more sebaceous glands, which is more common in people with oily skin.
How to Treat
Acrochordons, milias, and sebaceous hyperplasias can be treated with almost no discomfort with traditional excision combined with lasers and advanced technologies.
