What's New

Restoring your skin's radiance and youthful appearance

Medical peels are the obvious solution for treating many skin flaws and improving the skin’s appearance. With time, sun exposure, smoking, hormonal changes and aging causes skin reactions such as brown or age spots; dullness; dilated pores; fine lines and wrinkles; melasma; blackheads (acne, pimples).

Medical peeling is a technique used in the field of aesthetic medicine to reproduce and stimulate cellular regeneration where natural action is less effective with age. Peeling therefore results in the removal of dead skin cells (outer layer) and promotes healthier growth of skin cells. Outcome: smoother, supple skin; reduction of wrinkles, age spots and roughness of skin.

The depth of the treatment’s action depends on the severity of the skin flaws being treated. Peelings are often used in conjunction with other treatments (such as laser and skin care products) for treating fine lines, wrinkles, scars, flaws, uneven tone and damages caused by ageing or the sun.
There are different types of peelings, ranging from superficial to deep. Glycolic Acid Peels (GAP), Salicylic Acid Peels (SAP), Trichloroacetic Acid Peels (TAP), Jessner Peels.

The Figurra Institute offers you several types of peeling treatments that vary according to your needs. Book an appointment to complete an assessment for determining the right treatment for you.

Trichloroacetic Acid Peels (TCA)
A medium-depth peel that penetrates the skin deeper than the epidermis, thus making it highly effective for treating wrinkles, acne, and uneven pigmentation. Since it is a stronger type of peel, there is a moderate recovery period during which it is essential to avoid exposing the treated area to sunlight.
The TCA treatment can also be used in higher concentrations to target specific areas, to correct depressed scars and to get rid of fatty deposits on the eyelids (Xanthelasma).

Jessner Peels
A penetrating peel composed of a combination of resorcinol, salicylic acid and lactic acid. This unique blend of chemicals exfoliates the hypodermis and the outermost layer of the skin peels, creating new skin within a few days. The new skin is smoother and healthier. Jessner Peels are renowned for their effective treatment of sun damaged skin, mild to moderate acne, melasma, fine lines, and wrinkles.
